A modern outdoor escape designed for relaxation, connection and effortless year-round living. Studio Alba transformed this generous Keilor backyard into a considered family retreat centred around a 7.2 x 4.0m concrete pool and integrated 2.0 x 1.9m overflow spa. Finished in Palm Beach 48mm mosaic tiles and framed with Tundra Grey porcelain coping, the pool and spa form a calm visual anchor that sets the tone for the entire landscape. Frameless glass fencing in stainless steel spigots maintains safety while preserving openness and uninterrupted views across the space. Existing retaining walls and boundary fences were retained where possible to maintain structure and efficiency, while new garden beds and soft landscaping were introduced to create balance and maturity. The layout blends practicality with elevated outdoor living. New concrete steppers lead to a dedicated firepit zone, while the pool equipment sits neatly on a brushed concrete base. A composite timber bench seat with waterfall edges provides storage and functionality, and a compliant bar bench with glass infill creates an ideal entertaining moment beside the water. A curated planting palette adds softness and depth, combining Tristaniopsis, viburnum, lomandra and senecio with textural groundcovers and feature trees for seasonal interest. bermuda lawn, edged in steel, defines movement and strengthens the clean lines of the design. This landscape balances structure, usability and contemporary style to deliver a backyard that feels both refined and welcoming.
