Modern Landscape Design Kew East: Sloped Garden Reimagined for Family Living
Kew East
This design transforms a steep and disjointed Kew East garden into a functional, beautifully connected series of outdoor spaces that the family can use every day.
The scope includes reworking multiple level changes, rebuilding stairs, resurfacing existing concrete, improving drainage, upgrading walls and screening, and creating new circulation routes that tie the home to the garden more seamlessly. Kimberley travertine is used consistently across steps, landings and crazy paving to bring cohesion and a refined architectural finish.
The design introduces new terraces for sitting, dining and play, while retaining key elements such as the magnolia and relocated maple to maintain the garden’s established character. Rendered walls, timber batten screening and a refreshed streetscape help modernise the property and create privacy without feeling enclosed.
A layered planting palette softens the structure, adds texture across the slopes and frames views from inside the home. Groundcovers, grasses, hedging and feature trees work together to create a calm, green outlook year-round.
Overall, the design creates a more accessible, unified and inviting landscape — turning a complex site into a practical, elegant and enjoyable garden for family living.
