Landscape Design and Architecture Yarrambat

Set on a generous, sloping site in Yarrambat, this landscape was designed as a series of connected outdoor zones that support entertaining, family life, and everyday relaxation. The brief focused on creating a cohesive flow between the home and garden while making full use of the property’s scale, levels, and outlook.

At the centre of the design is a semi-raised swimming pool and integrated spa, finished in classic travertine and soft ceramic mosaic tiles to create a timeless, resort-style feel. Surrounding the pool, travertine paving in both large format and French pattern defines key circulation and lounging zones, while frameless glass fencing maintains open sightlines across the garden. A rendered pool wall, capped with stone coping, anchors the pool area and integrates seamlessly with the home’s architecture.

Outdoor living extends beyond the pool with a covered alfresco and open timber pergola, finished in Merbau decking and positioned to align with the kitchen and internal living spaces. An outdoor kitchen, bar seating and poolside cabana create multiple destinations for gathering, while features such as a pull-down outdoor cinema and fire pit zone encourage year-round use. Throughout the garden, natural mud rock steps and retaining elements respond to the site’s slope, doubling as informal seating and transition points between levels.

The landscape softens as it moves outward, transitioning into open lawn areas, future recreational space, and layered planting that balances structure with a relaxed, natural feel. Steel edging, gravel finishes and thoughtfully detailed hardscaping ensure each zone feels resolved and intentional. The result is a generous, well-considered outdoor environment — a landscape designed to evolve with the family and support a lifestyle that moves effortlessly between entertaining, play and quiet retreat.
