Landscape Design and Architecture Moonee Ponds
This Moonee Ponds project carefully balances the heritage character of a Victorian-style home with a contemporary landscape approach. The design respects the home’s original architecture, retaining existing features and mature planting while introducing modern materials and refined garden layers that feel both timeless and considered.
An existing pool is enhanced with a raised spa, creating an elegant focal point that blends seamlessly into the established setting. Limestone paving, organic bluestone steppers and subtle brick detailing complement the home’s period charm, while updated fencing, gates and garden features bring a fresh, modern edge. Layered planting softens the space, combining flowering shrubs, textural groundcovers and evergreen structure to provide privacy, seasonal interest and a sense of maturity.
Throughout the garden, attention to detail and careful transitions between spaces ensure the landscape feels cohesive and inviting. Retained trees and hedging anchor the design, while new planting introduces fragrance, movement and year-round interest. The result is a garden that honours its Victorian heritage while offering a calm, contemporary outdoor retreat designed for modern living.
